independent inspectors at every stage of construction under the new building
regulations. They generally have 10 year construction guarantees and 2 year
interior workmanship guarantees.New apartments start from around £45,000

Cyprus
Located in the crystal clear deep blue waters of the Eastern Mediterranean the island of Cyprus is conveniently situated at the hub of three continents (Europe, Asia and Africa), this strategic location has had an important role in the development of the island’s history and civilization. One could say that Cyprus is in the middle of the world, with time zones 7 hours ahead of New York City and 7 hours behind Tokyo.
With a land area of 9,251 km the island is the third largest in the Mediterranean, it’s landscape is rich and diverse and is dominated by two mountain ranges.

Cyprus offers the best of both worlds: Excellent cosmopolitan restaurants and night-clubs, famous wines, sandy beaches, windsurfing or water-skiing and facilities for all kinds of sport such as tennis and horse-riding. Alternatively one can visit quiet mountain villages seemingly untouched by the twentieth century.
With its rich vegetation, the island of Cyprus is a paradise for nature lovers. In spring, the land is transformed into a sea of blossom, with colourful flowers and shrubs covering the hills & valleys, whilst fruit & ornamental tress are displayed in full bloom.During the sun-drenched summer, grain turns the countryside golden yellow and flowering oleander provides a colourful counterpoint.Autumn is perfumed with the scent of herbs, fruit, and wine and with the rare strawberry tree bearing its crimson fruit blended with red & orange autumn foliage leaving trails of beauty. In the island’s mild winter, almond trees blossom and citrus ripens while the Troodos Mountains are covered in a white blanket of snow.
Cyprus is fast becoming the businessman's newly discovered paradise. Among the reasons for the development of Cyprus as a major commercial centre are the island's key geographical position, its excellent infrastructure and numerous tax advantages.
Joining the EU on May 1st 2004, residents of Cyprus enjoy a crime free environment, state of the art telecommunication and international business services, and excellent healthcare and medical services.
Excellent infrastructure and facilities, high standard and quality of life, low cost of living, and generous tax incentives are all major factors that attract people to the island from all over the world, whether it be simply for holidays and vacation or investment and permanent residence.
However for many the one overriding factor that makes Cyprus the ideal location to purchase property is simply the weather and climate. The climate is often regarded by many as the best in Europe, with an almost unbelievable average of 340 days of sunshine per year. The peak tourism season is from April to October, with June, July and August averaging in excess of 12 hours of sunshine per day and temperatures consistently exceeding 32c. The winter months are mainly classified as December, January and February mainly because the weather is a little inconsistent and there are a few showery days, however it has still been known for swimmers to venture into the sea on Christmas day and sun seekers to get a healthy tan in January.
So the perfect weather, as well as all other advantages, made Cyprus one of the most attractive tourist destinations. Tourist arrivals increased by 10.3% to 3.53 million people in 2000, compared to 3.14 million in 1999. Total receipts from tourism increased by 16.8% to CYP 1,194 million in 2000 from CYP 1,022 million the previous year. The rate of increase was much faster than the corresponding number of tourist arrivals, indicating a rise in the amount of money tourists spent.
